Feelings. We all have them. They ebb and flow throughout the day. They can provide us information about our current course. They can serve us. And, they can also hold us back.
That’s what this video’s about. In it I share a big, personal announcement, and how that is causing me to lean into new and different action to support myself.
If you’ve ever wanted to change a habit (lose weight, grow your business, build your community), and have found yourself saying, “But I just don’t feel like it,” click play below.
The truth is, in the beginning, you’ll rarely feel like taking action. You won’t want to get out of bed a half hour earlier, or have your photos taken to post online, or write that email to a prospective client. You’ll want to do what you did the day before, and the day before that. You’ll want to stay in your comfort zone. And, ultimately, that leads to suffering. So, feel free to borrow my motto: Just do it and get it over with!
In the comments below, tell me where you’re pressing up against your own version of “I don’t feel like it”. Then share what you want to create and the one small step you’re committed to taking this week. Let’s see how you feel after doing so.

Dear Karen: Thank you so much. I appreciate your celebratory note!
Hi Amber,
I like that you added “gently” about changing habits. Some habits like smoking are probably better done as a big, one-time action. But some of the more sneaky ones like procrastination might be more easily shifted by gently and sustainably making changes.
Great video!
Dear Scott: Right?! I’m going for gentle and grace-filled over here. Thanks for watching and sharing what stood out to you. Hope all is well.
Wow! This video couldn’t be more relevant to my life right now. My wedding is right around the corner and even though I am happy in my skin I want to tone up a bit. The challenge I have been experiencing is not being ready. Ever since having my daughter I feel “broken.” It is more a psychological thing but it is holding me back from really getting back into my old physical routine. Powerful message and I know I will feel better if I just start so thanks for the reminder Amber. I commit to starting this week to moving my body more at least three times a week.
Congrats on your engagement! So happy for you.
Dear Katie: I love the timing on this. Congratulations to you too! So exciting. I fully support you in starting—in taking the first step toward your physical routine. You’ll feel more like you in no time. And, no matter what, your special day will be amazing. This I know. Love, Amber
