Something special happens when we have support. When we have someone in our lives who believes in us, guides us, and is willing to be honest with us when we get in our own way. Human potential is mind blowing. It’s a privilege to help someone see what’s possible for their life. To help them live their dream. People are whole, complete, and capable of having everything they want.
Robert Kegan, psychologist and author of Immunity to Change says what’s required to create lasting change is a mindset shift and a behavioral shift. This is foundational to the work I do—whether it’s supporting an artist in experiencing more joy in their work, a new mom in finding time for herself, or a creative entrepreneur who walks in and tells me, “I just want to make more money.” Fantastic. I’m all for going for the outside win and living the best that life has to offer. But these things don’t by themselves create lasting fulfillment. People walk away from our coaching container with what I call the real more. This involves external wins, like money and weight loss, but also includes things like forgiveness, compassion, joy, love, and presence—being present to the beauty of their lives.
Creating the real more is a process that requires a committed, courageous, and willing participant. My clients stretch beyond their comfort zone and take new and different action in service to their highest growth and learning. They do the work. They drive the car. I help navigate. And, let me tell you, they are inspiring people—not extraordinary in the sense of being more gifted than anyone else, but in the ways in which they show up for themselves and the work we do together.
People sometimes talk about my big heart or the way I demonstrate love. I adore my clients. I love them fiercely. I help them love themselves. That doesn’t mean coddling. It means holding them to a bolder, fuller version of themselves and their lives. I see them before they see themselves.

I’ve finally been able to establish a solid routine in my life, including things like daily meditation to keep focused and centered. In my career as a creative person, I feel more confident than ever in expressing my authentic voice. I can clearly hear the change in the music I write these days. Probably the most profound changes in me have happened on the inside though. I’ve learned how to find balance, to forgive myself, to express gratitude, to stay curious, and to be courageous in the face of my fears. I needed my entire life to change – and that’s kinda what happened…BURNOUT:
Near the end of 2014, I had dug myself into a workaholic ditch, and felt like I had no control, no compass, and no concept of who I was anymore. I was barely sleeping, eating horribly, and engaging in a myriad of unhealthy stress reducing habits. I could not fathom how my once beloved career had devolved into such a prison.
Everything came to a head one morning when I looked down at my keyboard and discovered it was covered in my own hair. Yes, my hair was falling out. Neglecting my health had finally caught up to me in a bad way, and I knew I needed help to regain control of my life.
And help did come, in the form of a recommendation from a dear friend. “A Life Coach?” I thought to myself. “Really?” as the meat and potatoes Midwestern side of me bristled with mild contempt. But I was determined to be open to help from any and all sources, so I mustered courage and threw myself into the process. However, I had a hard time convincing my fiancée that embarking on life coaching was worth it. Eventually, she told me I had her blessing on one condition, “if your entire life changes,” she said. A tall order, no question about it. But that is what needed to happen. I needed my entire life to change.
REBUILDING:
One of the most powerful lessons I learned from my life coaching experience is that everything starts in the world of the internal. Often in our sessions together, I felt like Leonard DiCaprio in the movie Inception. But instead of breaking into my dreams, Amber helped me to hack into my thoughts. For instance, I couldn’t get my schedule under control until I learned to kick my “say yes to everything” habit. And there was no ridding that habit until I realized where that impulse originated from…the thought that what I DO is who I AM. Once I realized I was saying yes to everything to prop up my sense of worth, I began to be in control of my decisions again. Personal breakthroughs like this helped me to see that emotional obstacles in my internal world were blocking the goals in my external world.
Over the course of several months, Amber was able to help me dismantle my circus show of spinning plates. I no longer felt like my whole world was one bump away from crashing down around me. I needed my entire life to change – and that’s kinda what happened.

Working with Amber was a transformational experience for me. Many amazing things happened in my life and my biggest goal came to fruition—getting pregnant with my first child. Amber represented a calm nonjudgmental voice for me and seemed to always know exactly how I was feeling. Her intuition is amazing. She pushed me and coached me and encouraged me to be my best. I could always count on her for a positive perspective and kind word. Having her support meant the world to me. I can’t believe how much I’ve transformed in six months—even my husband noticed a difference! My anxiety has decreased and I feel calm and at peace. Life is so good.
Working with Amber has been one of the greatest gifts in my life. I started working with her when I was at a place of new leadership with my company and didn’t know what I needed to do in order to move to the next level. Since working with Amber I have more than doubled my income, I have been able to reduce/eliminate the things that were sucking my energy and instead focus on where my greatest strengths were.
On top of that, I’ve been able to hone in on what is most important and valuable to me in order to find the sweet joy of life and of work. Amber has a unique ability to walk you through some of your deepest questions and your darkest fears to come to a place of acceptance of your greatness that leaves you feeling incredibly empowered and valuable. Working with Amber has given me so much clarity to work from a soul centered place vs a place of proving or ego which has given me an authentic voice that has led to my success. I can’t imagine working with a better, more loving coach. She has been a true God-send and I am so grateful for the process of working with her and becoming the best version of myself to powerfully bring my gifts to this world.
