How to Stop Suffering

I’m preparing to lead a workshop for twenty-four solopreneurs tomorrow. I like to personalize the day and learn as much as I can about each participant in advance. As I was reviewing their beautiful stories, I noticed a theme of suffering—and how fundamental that seems to be for the human experience.

A part of us looks out into the world and decides, I want that. Could be weight loss, a bigger house, a partner, travel, more money, more followers, time freedom, etc. This is a beautiful thing. Knowing what we want is powerful.

The part that gets sticky, and ultimately creates the suffering, is our attachment to having what we want—on our terms and in our time. This is the challenge. It’s also the opportunity.

I recently gave an interview where I share about this…how suffering has shown up in my life, and how I support myself in letting it go.

I loved talking with Faith Shevlin, courageous creator of the IMperfectly Healthy podcast. I ended up sharing stories I’ve never shared before. To me, this is an indication of a good interview…and interviewer.

If you have some time, take a listen using either option below:

Faith’s Website: You can listen here.

Itunes: You can download our episode (#20) from her podcast here.

If you do, I’d love to hear what you think. Who knows, the timing of this may be perfect for you right now.

With Fierce Loving,
Amber
