Is Your Thin Fantasy Blocking You?
If you’re a woman in the USA (maybe even other parts of the world), you’ve probably had your fair share of thin fantasies. You know, where everything in your life is better because you are thin.
You have the career of your dreams. Men are falling at your feet. People listen to you and want to be around you. Shopping for clothes is actually enjoyable.
At the end of the day, all your problems vanish because You. Are. Thin.
These are what I call thin fantasies. The key word being fantasy. They are not reality.
Yet, for some reason our minds like to buy into the idea that when we have this—in this case thin—then we will be happy.
The thing is, nothing ‘out there’ can ever make us happy. And, on some level we all know this, yet for whatever reason we ignore it or forget it or deny it, which causes us to succumb to living an unsatisfied, discontented life where we regularly feel unfulfilled.
Well, today you are going to change that! The following three tips are designed to get you feeling good about your body and life right now!
Tip #1: Give Yourself Permission to Have a Crazy Good Time Everyday!
This one is really about allowing yourself to experience more joy in your life. Often times, as we become adults we get serious and forget to have fun. Our worries take over and our joy fades. We focus on paying the bills, making the dinner, and losing the weight and forget to enjoy our lives.
I challenge you to uplevel your cap on joy. There is no glass ceiling here. See if you can’t find something to laugh about today. Or, better yet, see if you can’t experience some kind of ecstasy.
Yes, I said ecstasy. That vision of the sun coming over the horizon. Or that bite into a piece of sweet, moist chocolate cake. Or that giggle from your daughter’s mouth. Those can be moments of ecstasy. We just have to be present to experiencing them.
Tip #2: Take a Risk and Break Your Thin Rules!
I want you to take out a piece of paper and list 5 ways your life would be better if you were thinner. What would you be doing? How would you be carrying yourself?
Now take a look at your list. See if you can do any of those things right now.
Here are a couple examples:
When I’m thinner I’ll wear my skinny jeans.
When I lose 10 pounds, I’ll treat myself to a shopping spree.
When I’m more toned I’ll be more social.
Well, guess what, you can actually do all those things RIGHT NOW. See, your life is happening in this moment. And the only thing that’s stopping you from experiencing the joy, freedom and confidence you want are your own rules. (Click to tweet.)
I dare you to break one. I promise it won’t be as bad as you fear. Who knows, you may even have a really good time in the process!
Tip #3: Say You’re Sorry.
Whether you know it or not, you are in a relationship with your body. She is listening and taking in all those mean, negative things you say about her.
Question: What if you were in a relationship with a significant other and they said something nasty about you? You certainly wouldn’t be happy, but I bet you’d feel better if they took responsibility and apologized.
Well, guess what, your body deserves some ‘I’m sorrys’.
She is only trying to keep you healthy every single day. She is digesting that over-indulgence of ice cream for you. She is riding that bike for you. She is functioning on few hours of sleep for you.
So, maybe let her know you appreciate that. Let her know you are sorry. Guarantee she will feel it.
In the comments below, share your thin fantasy. Sharing it is one way to dissolve it. Cause, the thing is girl, you deserve a fulfilled, exciting life NOW.
Can’t wait to bust some thin fantasy booty!
Love,
Amber
