The Function of Optimism

Every now and then I come across something so powerful that it actually transforms my world. And, today, I’m thrilled I get to share one of those things with you.

If you’ve ever thought, “If I had her body / that relationship / that kind of financial support, then I’d be happy too.” If you’ve ever had a negative view point of life, or struggled to find the good, then you gotta keep reading.

About two years ago I came across a recording by Steve Chandler called The Function of Optimism (download it below). At the time, I wasn’t really all that interested in it because I considered myself to be a positive person. I was bubbly and happy and for the most part liked my life. Or so I thought.

But, upon listening to it, I had one of the biggest realizations of my life:

I was a pessimist masquerading as an optimist.

Through this recording, I realized that my internal dynamic was very much pessimistic, negative and glass half-empty. Inside I often felt hopeless, like a victim. Everything from the way I spoke to myself to what I believed was possible for me was quite limited and covered by a dark gray cloud.

Yet, my exterior shell – the way I showed up in the world was glass half-full. Externally it appeared my life was fantastic. The outside eye would look at me and think, “this girl’s got her sh*t together.”

And, boy, did I have ’em all fooled. Thankfully was I lovingly schooled!

This moment was really fascinating for me because:

1. It changed my identity.

It brought to light a pattern and way of being that wasn’t serving me – or anyone else for that matter. I was now able to make sense as to why some of my best friends would tell me (in moments of loving honesty) that I had a lot of anger and negativity inside.

Until this recording, I just couldn’t see it.

2. It gave me a clear map of how I could change.

I listen to personal development material all the time and often have awarenesses, but am usually unclear how to fully support myself in making the change permanent.

Steve’s talk is the complete opposite. He lays out a very specific, actionable way to adjust your mindset from pessimism to optimism. So, I started applying his suggestions and right away felt the difference.

I recently re-listened to this talk and found it just as valuable today as I did two years ago. I again had so many light bulb moments going off in my head and feelings of excitement for how I could apply these principles to where I am today – and really go deeper.

That’s when I knew I had to share it with you.

So, I wrote Steve to thank him and ask his permission to gift this recording to you. Fortunately for all of us, he generously said yes! (Amazing the power of putting it out there and asking for what you want!)

Get ready to learn about the benefits of optimism and how you can make it habit in your own life using Steve’s five actionable steps.

You can download Steve’s audio: The Function of Optimism here.

FYI – Steve talks a little slower and more articulate than you may be used to in audio recordings. Do NOT let that throw you. The power of this information is profound. Your ears will adjust, trust me, so keep listening.

Steve is a master coach, speaker and author of over 30 books. He uses his own personal life experience to inspire and demonstrate what is possible for us all. You can learn more about Steve here.

I hope you find this recording valuable and informative. If you do, please email Steve and share your appreciation with him. I’m certain he would enjoy knowing he’s made a difference in your life.

With loving,
Amber
