The Most Important Ingredient in Coaching

Love is often thought of as something shared between people—something given or received. But what if love is actually the foundation of transformation? The force that allows for truth? The energy that makes life meaningful and coaching truly powerful?
Not romantic love, but the love that expands within.
The more I remember, rediscover, and open to love, the more compassion I experience. And the more compassion I have, the easier it is to see another—to witness their essence beyond their fears, struggles, or stories. That seeing creates safety and understanding. And when a client feels truly safe, vulnerability follows. And with vulnerability comes deeper discoveries.
Consciousness knows when someone is ready for deeper healing and awakening.
As coaches, we don't force insights. We don't push for breakthroughs. Instead, we hold space, trusting the natural intelligence at play in each of our clients.
But here's the part that often gets overlooked: Our level of consciousness—our awareness of the love we are—matters more than any tool, strategy, or framework.
The more we cultivate that in ourselves, the more our clients feel it.
How Do We Expand Our Capacity to Experience Our Loving Essence?
One way is reconnecting with nature.
Recently, I came across an interview with Jane Goodall where she spoke about doctors in Japan prescribing time in nature to their patients. It's called Shinrin-yoku, or "forest bathing."
No agenda. No phone. No forcing an insight. Just being in the presence of trees, water, sky. Studies show this practice lowers stress, regulates the nervous system, and enhances well-being. But beyond the science, there's something else at play: Nature is a direct reflection of who we are.
The trees don't rush. The river doesn't force its flow. The heartbeat of the earth remains steady—even in the face of disruption. When storms come, nature responds. She bends, sheds, pauses. And then, in her own time, she recovers and finds her center again.
What if, instead of staying in a cycle of reacting and stress, we gave ourselves a doctor's note to step outside?
What if, as coaches, we prescribed time in nature—not just for our clients, but for ourselves?
Because here's the truth: We are our first client.
Coaching isn't just about what we do in sessions. It's about how we live, how we expand, how we deepen in our being. If we aren't prioritizing our own awakening, we will stay at a certain level of consciousness—and our coaching will reflect that.
Which brings me to a beautiful quote by Mark Nepo:
"The flower doesn't dream of the bee. It blossoms and the bee comes."
We are blossoming into love—our true nature. That is the point. That is the invitation.
Nature shows us the way. Love is calling us forward.
Will we answer?
An Invitation
This weekend, I invite you to step away from the screens and into the natural world. Even if it's just for 10 minutes, take a breath outside. Feel the air. Listen. Let nature recalibrate your system.
Because in that stillness, in that pause, something opens. And when we open to love within, our clients feel it too.
With loving,
Amber
