On a scale from 1-10...

We are entering our third month in the CFJ Coaching Success School—and students are experiencing off-the-charts wins. They are having their highest billings ever—one student had her first $50K month. Another led her first complimentary workshop. Another is leading her first webinar and has over 50 people enrolled. And, the class as a whole has collectively billed over $1M so far! I can only imagine where we’ll be in our final weekend in June.

These wins are incredible—and they can also be challenging when they don’t seem to apply to you. A few students courageously shared in their monthly report how discouraged they are about the state of their practice. They are taking action, and yet the money isn’t rolling in.

One student said he felt like he didn’t deserve to do anything fun until he got a new billing. Another said she felt like working more was the answer, even though she was already working hard and felt depleted and uninspired.

My response to both of them: How much are you enjoying your life right now?

If I asked you, *|FNAME|*, on a scale of 1 to 10 where 1 is, “I’m not enjoying my life at all” and 10 is, “I’m so freakiin’ inspired and alive with joy”, what’s your number?

I want you to pause right now and answer. What’s your number?

This number is important in general, and especially for coaches. In general the more we are enjoying our lives, the better we feel. Our immune system is stronger, our outlook is brighter, we are more pleasant and engaged in the world. We are also present and open to Life’s synchronicities and guidance.

As coaches, our way of being is everything. If we aren’t slowed down inside of ourselves when out in the world, we miss opportunities—chances to connect with and serve other humans. These missed moments are a significant detriment in our work, because what we need are other humans. They become our clients.

When we tell ourselves we can only have fun after we make more money…
When we lock ourselves at home and disengage from our social communities…
When we force ourselves to sit for hours in front of the computer demanding inspiration now…

We are engaged in punishing ourselves. And, if punishing ourselves to success worked, there would be a lot more successful people in the world.

If you see yourself reflected in the story above, stop. Stop feeding the voice of lack inside of you. You deserve to enjoy your life NOW. Why? Because you exist.

If you’ve been grinding away at your work and haven’t been out with your friends in a while, call someone and set up a date. If you love dancing, go take a class or put on your favorite song and rock it out. If nature fills you up, or road tripping, or building a model car—go do that thing. NOW.

Joy works wonders. It has natural curative properties. It also tends to be a magnet for people who want more joy. Let’s be clear, there are plenty of people on the planet practicing punishment as a tool for motivation. You can be a role model for something else—but not if they can’t see you, the real you.

Go out and be your awesome, funny, spontaneous, unique, loving, and talented self…and see what happens.

And, if you want a little loving jolt sent your way, comment below and tell me your number. I’m so curious.

With Fierce Loving,
Amber
