Upgrade Your Vision Board

Happy New Year!

I hope you closed 2018 with deep gratitude and appreciation for yourself and your progress, and are welcoming 2019 with joy in your heart.

This time of year I like to slow down and consider what feels most alive—what I want to create and where I want to pour my energy and love. I’m a visual person, so I like vision boards; however, I’m not a fan of cutting up magazines and hoping I find the images that capture my dream. Instead I do something else.

I shared my process with a dear friend who LOVED it, used it and said to share it with you. So I am.

I create a more refined version that I convert to a photo, upload to Shutterfly and then order as a product (like a desktop plaque or coffee mug)—that way I see my vision board regularly in a very practical way.

Here’s an example of last year’s desktop plaque that I looked at every day:

If this looks good to you and you want to give it a try, follow the six steps below:

1. Get clear on what you want to create in 2019.

Think about all the different areas of your life—health, family, friendships, romantic partnership, finances, career, travel, education, hobbies, and spirituality. What area needs your loving attention? What would be meaningful to shift? What do you want to deepen in? What qualities would you like to live into?

For my 2019, I am living into doing less to accomplish more. This means, taking care of my body by continuing my pilates practice, adding in dance class and green juice. In my work, I’m focusing on two areas: teaching at CFJ’s Coaching Success School (if you’re a coach, check out this free event now) and serving my individual clients. This allows me more time to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in LA—my happy place. For my spiritual practice, I’m continuing A Course in Miracles, and adding in the 5-Minute Journal. I may layer in a regular meditation practice—but one step at a time. Vince and I are planning a trip to Italy, plus, I’m looking into regular adventure dates for us. Etc.

I like to pick a couple new physical habits to implement, as well as new inner qualities to live into inside.

2. Search for images online that represent your vision and intentions.

You can use royalty-free images from sites like Unsplash if you plan to share your creation publicly. If you’re creating for your own personal use, you can simply Google images and use anything you discover there.

3. Insert your images into a word processing document.

I’m a Mac user, so I use Pages. If you’re a PC user, you can use Microsoft Word. Both will allow you to insert your images and resize them on the page. Simply open a new document and insert the images. (If you don’t know how to add images to the page, you can Google how for your word processing program.)

4. Save your document as a PDF.

In Pages, click File, then Export to and click PDF.
In Word, click File, then Save As and click PDF.

5. Open your PDF version and save as a JPG.

In Preview, click File, then Export, then Format to JPG.
For PC users, click here to see how to convert a PDF.

6. Upload your photo to Shutterfly and place your order.

Now your document is an image—basically a photo. So you can upload it to a site like Shutterfly and put it on any of the products they offer.

This year (once I complete my vision board) I think I’m going to make a coffee mug. My morning coffee time is sacred, so imagine when I infuse it with seeing my 2019 vision!

If you take on this process, please share your creation with me. I’d love to see it and celebrate you. You can tag me on Instagram or email to hello@amberkrzys.com.

Wishing you an extraordinary year.

With Fierce Loving,
Amber
